CAMPUS INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST

 

Reports to: Principal

Role and Purpose:

 

The Instructional Specialist will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning. The Instructional Specialist will focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding of research-based effective instruction. The Instructional Specialist will function as a facilitator to provide leadership coordination and innovation to improve student performance so that all students derive maximum benefits from the campus instructional program. Campus instructional specialists work closely with all levels of administration on campus and at the district office.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree 

Valid Texas teaching certificate for the level assigned

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

 

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Knowledgeable about STARR and District testing programs

 

Experience:

 

Three years of successful teaching experience

Master’s degree and/or experience in an educational leadership capacity
