Position Summary:
The Assistant Principal will support the Principal in the leadership and administration of the innovative early education instructional program in Victoria ISD.  The mission of FW Gross Early Education Center is to positively impact the early learning experiences and environments of the most academically at-risk children and ensure all children are prepared with the social-emotional and academic skills needed to be successful in school.

Position Key Accountabilities:
1.    Instructional Leadership and Management – Oversee all aspects of the curriculum to ensure alignment to campus, district, and state expectations; use data to target goals and continuous improvement.
2.    Personnel Management – Collaborate with the Principal to interview and select new staff; define, implement, and monitor employee performance goals; conduct annual T-Tess appraisals; plan professional development based on the needs of the campus and individuals.
3.    Student Management – Implement discipline management system that that is equitable and enhances school climate.
4.    School and Community Relations – Build relationships with parents and community members to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
5.    Professional Growth and Development – Foster a school culture of continuous growth and improvement; provide resources for teachers and staff; attend on-going professional development as required by Victoria ISD; seek innovative and effective resources for staff.
6.    School and Organizational Culture – Develop a culture of collaboration and innovation; encourage staff and families to be a part of decision making; communicate regularly with parents and stakeholders; encourage communication between families and staff.
7.    School Improvement – Leverage campus and district wide data to improve student outcomes and overall campus performance.
8.    Other duties as assigned.
 
Certification/Skills:
Valid Teacher and Principal (or mid-management) Certification required.
T-Tess Appraiser Certification required.
 
Minimum Education:
Master’s Degree required.
 
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years classroom teaching experience in early education setting (Pre-k-1st grade) required. Prior experience in instructional and campus leadership roles preferred.
 
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
