Coordinate and facilitate successful student transition from high school to college and/or career. 


Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree

  • Knowledge of College admission requirements, financial aid requirements, and training necessary for future careers

  • Experience at the College level working with students

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Advise students to identify a course of study that promotes college and workforce readiness, career placement, and advancement, and helps the student make the transition from secondary to post-secondary education.

  2. Assist campus administrators and counselors as they meet with students to disseminate information related to high school course offerings and preparation for college entrance exams and the PSAT.

  3. Assist campus administrators and counselors as they design and develop the master schedule and schedule students.

  4. Assist with aligning campus CTE programs to Workforce Skills, Education, Programs, and Careers.

  5. Provide specialized assistance and information concerning career planning and college entrance to students, parents, staff, and community agencies.

  6. Develop and provide information and materials related to career/college opportunities for high school students.

  7. Assist students with the completion and submission of college and trade school applications

  8. Coordinate college, university, and trade school visits as needed.

  9. Develop and maintain a cordial, professional relationship with members of the college, university, military, and business communities.

  10. Coordinate the Dual Credit Program with community colleges and other higher educational institutions.

  11. Assist parents and students with the completion of the FAFSA.

Assessment

  1. Coordinate and manage TSI Assessments for Students

  2. Coordinate SAT, PSAT, ACT, and ASVAB exams for students.

  3. Coordinate AP Exams for students.

Program Management and Administration

  1. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations
