Primary Purpose:
Coordinate and facilitate successful student transition from high school to college and/or career.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree

- Knowledge of career development
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Knowledge of College admission requirements, financial aid requirements, and training necessary for future careers
- Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to students, parents, and district staff
Experience
- Experience with Dual Credit Programs
- Experience at the High School level working with students
- Experience at the College level working with students
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Advise students to identify a course of study that promotes college and workforce readiness, career placement, and advancement, and helps the student make the transition from secondary to post-secondary education.
- Assist campus administrators and counselors as they meet with students to disseminate information related to high school course offerings and preparation for college entrance exams and the PSAT.
- Assist campus administrators and counselors as they design and develop the master schedule and schedule students.
- Assist with aligning campus CTE programs to Workforce Skills, Education, Programs, and Careers.
- Provide specialized assistance and information concerning career planning and college entrance to students, parents, staff, and community agencies.
- Develop and provide information and materials related to career/college opportunities for high school students.
- Assist students with the completion and submission of college and trade school applications
- Coordinate college, university, and trade school visits as needed.
- Develop and maintain a cordial, professional relationship with members of the college, university, military, and business communities.
- Coordinate the Dual Credit Program with community colleges and other higher educational institutions.
- Assist parents and students with the completion of the FAFSA.
Assessment
- Coordinate and manage TSI Assessments for Students
- Coordinate SAT, PSAT, ACT, and ASVAB exams for students.
- Coordinate AP Exams for students.
Program Management and Administration
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations
